One of my favourite plants for north-facing gardens is the Hydrangea Petiolaris. While hydrangeas usually prefer part-shade, this beauty thrives in full shade. I’ve seen this climbing hydrangea grow extremely well on the rear wall of several homes; a part of the garden that often receives little or no direct sunlight.
