How long do roses take to grow?
It can take roses up to a year to bloom when grown from seed. In fact, it may take several weeks to 6 months for a rose seed to germinate at all, depending on the variety. If you’d like to grow roses from seed, you can purchase them or harvest them from the rosehips on your own plants. Traditionally, rosarians have turned to miniature roses for indoor use. Today however, almost any rose variety can thrive inside, as long as it is suited to the conditions you can provide. Most rose plants can be grown in a sunny corner or window area but several species work well with artificial light.If desired, shrub roses do very well in containers, but should be in the ground before winter. Rose shrubs are fast growing, but their habit varies with variety. Most rose shrubs have a mounding tendency, and can reach 7′ in height without pruning. Most will reach 4′-5′ in height.Roses are wonderful plants for growing in pots, urns and other containers.
