What is the difference between an annual and a perennial plant?
Annual flowers grow for one long season, often into the fall, then die with the onset of freezing weather. Perennials come back year after year, with some plants that live just a couple years and others that continue growing for decades. If all goes well, perennials will come back every year. Some are short-lived and will last 2-3 years, while others can last 5 years or longer.
