What plant grows the fastest from a seed indoors?
Spinach. Spinach grows super quick from seed, so it’s typically easiest to direct sow it once the weather is right. That being said, I get so excited about homegrown spinach leaves that I often start a tray or two indoors. You can plant your spinach seedlings outside as soon as your soil is workable. Spinach. Spinach is a versatile and fast-growing green that can be harvested in as little as 20-30 days. It thrives in cooler temperatures and prefers partial shade. Sow the spinach seeds directly in the soil, and keep the soil moist for the best results.
What month should you start seeds indoors?
Early March through mid-April is ideal to start seeds of annual flowers and hot-climate vegetables that reach maturity quickly and need about 6 to 8 weeks of growth prior to planting outside. If you have a cold frame, or growhouse, you can sow sprouts in seed trays during early spring weather. Early sprouts should be started this way for a harvest from September onwards. I prefer to wait until warmer weather in April and grow sprouts to be ready for mid winter, and especially for Christmas dinner.
