What do you spray for black aphids?
Spray me with a home made garlic or chilli soap. Or make an insecticidal soap (2ml liquid Castille soap per 100 ml water) and target the underside of leaves. Some claim that including mint tea in the water can also be helpful. Ingredients: Mild liquid soap (like dish soap) and water. Recipe: Mix about 1-2 teaspoons of soap with a liter of water. Application: Spray the solution directly onto the affected areas of the plant, especially the undersides of leaves where whiteflies congregate. Repeat every few days until the whiteflies are gone.
What are the plant pests?
A pest is any living thing—a plant, an animal, or a microorganism—that has a negative effect on humans. It can be an unwanted plant (weed), fungi, nematode, microbe (such as bacteria or virus), insect, spider, mite, bird, fish, rodent, or even a deer. Note characteristics of the pest. This includes shape, size, color, number of legs, and whether it has wings and/or antennae. For rodents, consider size, color, length of nose, etc. There are four different types of pests – rodents, insects, birds and wildlife. Below we discuss a little more about each, what the signs of infestation are and how you can prevent them. Rats and mice are one of the more unpleasant infestations.
